Limits: North – Bârsa Valley, East – Bran Fundata Platform, South – Podul Dâmboviţei, West – Dâmboviţa Valley.

Highest point-La Om Peak, 2238 m, Piatra Craiului Massif consisting mainly of jurassic reef limestone disposed in sharply bent layers.

For the Northern part of Piatra Craiului Massif the entrance gate of the National Park is the town of Zărneşti. Founded in 1938, covering over 14800 ha, the park represents one of the greatest nature values of Romania.

One can see in here:

• Nature Reserves: Peretele Vestic (the western wall), Piatra Mică, Prăpăstiile Zărneştilor, Hornurile Grindului, Muchia Lungă.
• Nature Monuments: Colţii Chiliilor, Acul Crăpăturii, Padina Închisă, Orga Mare, Turnurile Dianei, Cerdacul Stanciului.
• 1000 species and 123 subspecies of plants (32% of the country total) of wich 53 endemic species (42% of country total).
